JUNE 07

Once again another good turn out especially seeing it was the beginning of winter approx 35 bikes.

A good job done by Evo once again for organizing the roast lunch at the Nagambie pub. It was good to see more riders joining us from Melb with Paul Marshall’s daughter and her friend meeting us at Nagambie.

As you know the weather is getting colder but our runs will continue (unless it is raining). During the colder months in particular it is important to use commonsense.

Our next ride we go back up the Calder to Wychitella for lunch where we were looked after very well last year. Let’s hope they order something a bit stronger than Powerade this time!!

For those of you who know Brent Tonkin – the Boundary Hotel barman who normally welcomes us before our rides, he is returning from Melbourne this week, where he underwent surgery and begun rehabilitation after being viciously attacked outside a Bendigo nightclub about a month ago. Whilst he won’t be back behind the bar just yet, we wish him all the best on his road to recovery.
A couple of events coming up are the Rally for Rod leaving the Boundary at 1pm Saturday 9th June and the truck and rod show over at Alexander on Sunday the 10th  June leaving the Boundary at 9am you’d want to rug up for this one, call Peter for more info on 0428 151 258

If anyone would like to advertise their bike, business or anything else for sale in the newsletter, let either Paul or Mick know.

MARCH 2007

“Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: ‘Wow, what a ride!’ Unknowny Winnie with another massive turn out with approximately 75 bikes and 15 pillions.  Winnie will be chasing the 100 mark next ride he organizes.  Thanks to Macka and the boys from Kilmore for helping on the day.
Thanks goes out to Greg for picking up the broken bike and videoing the day. We will put some footage on the web when it becomes available. I don’t think anybody would have been disappointed with the day you only make your own fun.  It’s not how long you live it’s how you live it! At the end of the Sunday rides some of the Boundary Riders are now considering a last drink at the Boundary for interested people. If anyone would like to help out by driving a support vehicle and trailer on any of our Sunday rides please ring Mick or Paul. Things coming up.
18th March 2007 - Maldon Show and Shine.
21st April 2007 – Charity Car Show – Deca, Shepparton (refer attachment).

11th February 2007

Message for the day

As quoted by Bill Hayes the Author of "The Original Wild Ones -
Tales of the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club". . . "until you'
be seen 50 bikers blasting past you in formation on their
chopped iron steeds, chrome straight pipes thundering, well,
you haven't lived. And once you have experienced such sights
and sounds of utter freedom, only then will you realise that
you have been living a diminished existence."

Hanging Rock Ride - Sunday 11th February 2007

Another good ride with 25 bikes leaving Bendigo.

I did hear some of the newer riders were a bit confused leaving the National Hotel. They were heading to the Boundary until someone rang them. Good idea by Watsy to have a mid month ride, picking the destination of the Hanging Rock Show and Shine. Winnie was also a huge help organising the ride. A big thanks goes out to Garry and Terry from Kyneton. They put themselve out, missing the ride, to set up tables, chairs, shade sails and putting on a barbeque with softdrink and beer (A fantastic effort). This is what it is all about, everybody helping out and coming up with new ideas.

As all regular Boundary Riders know, we are all equals, no politics - so if you have ideas, come forward and bring them to the table.

I left early, but believe that a boat would have been better transport to get me home as I endured some heavy rain and wind. Hopefully the others had better weather on the way home.

Thanks again to everyone.

Paul Evans

Well all I can say is to the people that didn’t go on the weekend ride to Myrtleford, is that you
missed out on a great weekend. Great riding and good people. Thanks must go to Doug Mayer and Paul Marshal for all the organising. I don’t think I’ve laughed so much in years. I don’t think the locals new what hit them either; we will have to book in someone else’s name next year.

This month’s ride was a hot one with approx 55 bikes and about 10 pillions. A good effort by the Golden Age pub in Beaufort - the quickest meals ever.Good to see new faces from Bendigo, Kyneton, Melbourne and Maryborough. Next months ride will be around the Kilmore area.

A website has been set up to show photos taken from recent rides. The link is:

This is from Graeme Bartlett

Marilyn emailed Larry Hall at Bob Dron Harley in Oakland California, USA. He is happy to offer any Boundary Rider great prices on all Harley Parts, Accessories and Clothing.
The offer is cost plus 20% to any member. I don't think we
can beat this offer.

Graeme said he saved $300 on one part.

G’Day Everyone

Well another year has been and gone. Our first ride of 07 had us on the back roads to Nth Harcourt and onto Kyneton for our first stop, were we meet the guys from there, we also had half a dozen riders from Kilmore join us for the ride (good onya Winnie). After a couple of drinks there we headed off to Greendale for lunch which is a top ride through the hills. On arrival the bar filled very quickly with everyone ordering lunch and drinks, and we all caught up to see what santa brought one another, it was a bit of a lengthy wait for some (it pays to order early). After we were all fed we left for Daylesford but not before a couple left their mark outside the pub.

The Five Flags at Campbells Creek was our last stop for a thirst quencher before heading home.

There are a couple of runs coming up that some might be interested in:

The cross piston bike & tattoo show run by the outlaws mc at 10 Colchester

Rd Rosebud Jan 27th.

The VIC HOG POKER RUN Sun 18th March

RUN TO THE BORDER April 27th- 29th April

Hi Everyone,

The last ride of the year we headed north to Numurkah and if you missed it you missed a bloody good ride followed by a few festive drinks at our namesake hotel.A broken throttle cable, detached mufflers and a minor run in with the boys in blue made for an interesting day! As soon as we got to the Numurkah Show and Shine we were greeted with a f*!@ing loud jet pass

overhead! What a welcome! The next ride is on the 7th January where we will be having lunch at

Greendale. Our first stop will be at about 12 noon at the Royal Hotel Kyneton where we can pick up the riders from down that way. There has been talk of an overnight stay between the January and Feburary rides, either to the coast or over to the Grampians. If this sounds like something that you’d be interested in, let us know where you’d prefer to go and we will endeavor to work something out (probably the weekend before Australia Day?).You can email me or Sue Mayer (dma55789@bigpond.net.au) with your preference. Hopefully we can sort something out.
