August 24, 2007 – The final episode of the three-part American Chopper: Australia special aired last night, August 23, on Discovery Channel. The series has delivered exceptionally strong subscription television ratings including securing the number one ranked position on each screening day for Discovery Channel’s core men 25-54 demographic. The first two episodes of American Chopper: Australia, which aired on August 9 and 16, were the most watched programs on subscription television nationally for their respective days.

Over the past three weeks, Australians tuned in to watch Paul Teutul Sr. and his sons Paul Jr. and Mikey, the larger-than-life characters from Discovery’s international hit-series American Chopper, on their adventures in Australia and to see what the guys came up with for the one-of-a-kind Australian-themed motorbike Russell Crowe challenged them to build.

“We are delighted with the fantastic results and viewer response to the American Chopper episodes in Australia,” said Mandy Pattinson, vice president and country head, Discovery Networks in Australia. “These results reinforce the loyalty our fans have for this four-time ASTRA Award winning series. It’s the viewers after all who voted American Chopper as their Favourite International Program and Favourite International Personality two years in a row and they were clearly excited to have the Teutuls in their own backyard.”

In case viewers missed any of the Teutul family holiday and the unveiling of the Australian bike, they can watch the three-part episode back-to-back this Sunday night, August 26, from 6.30 – 9.30pm on Discovery Channel.

The excitement of American Chopper: Australia has also made its way online. An Australia Revealed website was created for fans of the series and motorcycle aficionados to flex their creative muscles and customise their own Australian chopper and explain in 50 words or less why or how their chopper design represents Australia. The winner receives a trip for two to New York to visit the OCC headquarters. So far the site has received over 18,000 entries. To visit the impressive gallery of bikes, please visit

One of Discovery Networks’ most popular series worldwide, American Chopper highlights the craft of building intricate, custom-made motorcycles in the Orange Country Chopper garage, located 128 kilometres from New York City. The series has built a global fan base documenting the real-life tirades and triumphs of the eccentric Teutul family as they manage the shop and struggle to meet seemingly impossible deadlines for building incredible customised choppers.
